This research project will adapt dyeable polypropylene for processing fibers with varying degrees of fineness while retaining their absorptivity toward disperse dyes. It will also define the appropriate disperse dyes that offer optimal fastness, fixation, and leveling at relatively low temperatures; elaborate complete printing and dyeing procedures; and evaluate the economical and ecological viability of the dyeing and printing processes in different textiles areas.
