EMP: a new analystical method for evaluation of textile dyes

Electromolecular propulsion (EMP) is a novel electrokinetic molecualr technology. A testing instrument using EMP has been developed along with specifically formulated solvent mixtures for use in dye analysis. EMP functions via non-linear mechanisms unlike conventional electrophoresis. Analysis using EMP with various combinations of solvent media and different substrates indicated that different combinations of solvent/substrate systems can be used to reproducibly resolve chemically different dye species contained in high quality certified biostain dyes.
