comparative study of the influence of dyeing technique for reactive dyes on cotton, viz. exhaust (exh. ) vs. pad batch (pb) for dichlorotriazinyl dyes and pad-dry-cure (pdc) vs. pad-dry-steam (pds) for monochlorotriazinyl dyes, has been carried out in the laboratory for five depths of shade ranging from 0. 25 to 4 on two cotton fabrics. evaluation of these dyed fabrics has shown that the color buildup obtained for dichlorotriazinyl dyes at lower depths of shade by pb technique is singificantly higher as compared to exhaust technique, whereas at higher depths the color strength obtained by pb technique is either comparable or lower than those obtained by an exhaust technique. a similar trend of a lower magnitude has been observed for samples dyed with monochlorotriazinyl dyes by pds technique over corresponding samples dyed by pdc technique.
