wool quality is enhanced through dyeing by modified procedures using ph 4 to 5, lower dyeing and mordanting temperatures, and the use of protective and antisetting agents in the dyebath. several methods are available for the application of chrome dyes with minimal environmental impact. advances in processes for dyeing loose stock, package and fabric can reduce processing damage and achieve the level dyeing of high fastness dyes. improvements through new dyeing methods (such as increased yarn strength and elongation, increased abrasion resistance and reduced yarn breaks in spinning and weaving) are detailed.
