decoloring waste water with ozone in a filter with a floating media

the possibility is investigated of using in a single device a media of polystyrene foam modified with mno//2 to decolor and simultaneously remove suspended solids from dyeing-finishing plant waste water. it is shown that coating the polystyrene foam with mno//2 catalyzes the process, increasing the ozone absorption to 100. optimal parameters of the treatment process are established: gas and liquid velocity, ozone concentration in the gas phase, initial ratio of ozone and cod in the liquid being-treated, depth of the filter, and maximum concentration of suspended solids in the waste water. it is suggested that media consisting of activated carbon modified by mno//2 be replaced with media of polystyrene coated by mno//2.
