the finishing of silk is a relatively 'old art', but experts in this field among the young generation are a rarity. this article reports on the peculiarities and special requirements that finishing of this fiber involves, bearing in mind that for reasons of economy, the manufacturers of dyestuffs and auxiliaries unfortunately only have a limited engagement in this field.
