the edible oils refinery at marks, mississippi manufactures edible oils from cottonseed and soybeans. in october of 1974, the plant was issued a permit which laid out effluent requirements to be met initially and after 2 years of operation (i. e. , by october 1979). this paper presents the results of design, construction, and operation of the wastewater treatment plant which is currently meeting these limitations. the plant designed to meet the requirements includes a new surge tank, a new acid cracking system, a new neutralization system, an existing dissolved air flotation unit, a new aerated lagoon, a new settling lagoon, and a new dual media filter
