the advantages of membrane separation technology for the treatment and reuse of industrial effluents, particularly for closed loop recycle operation, are discussed. two pilot-plant application in the textile industry are outlined: high temperature ultrafiltration of desizing effluent for polymer size recovery and water reuse and hyperfiltration of mixed cotton/synthetic fiber dyehouse effluents for water reuse. 8 refs
