Color Resist Style on Wool/Natural Silk Blended Fabric Using Reactive Dyes

Researchers developed a technique for color resist printing on wool/silk blend fabric. The technique added an illuminating dye (monochlorodifluoro pyrimidine) in the printing paste. The illuminating color was fixed in the presence of a resist agent, such as Sandospase. Experiments evaluated the effects of such printing paste chemicals as thiourea, sodium acetate, and sodium sulfite; reactive reserve; Matexil DN-XL 500 concentrations; and pH on fabric properties. Evaluated properties included color strength, tensile strength, and colorfastness. Increased chemical concentrations generally increased hydrolysis rates. 11 refs.
