RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN TEXTILE PROCESSING MACHINERY.

Recent technical developments for a variety of textile machines are briefly reviewed. New machines for singeing, bleaching, cleaning, cropping, and shearing are considered. Benninger's DIMENSA merserizing machine, knit goods mercerizing machines, and a mercerizer for small outputs are discussed. New continuous and batch dyeing technology by Megeba, Henriksen Ciba-Geigy, Mather, Schuler, Argathan, Sanjog Engineering, Peg-Whitely, MTM Obermaier, Edward Kusters, North, Menninger, Gaston County, and Fleissner is described. Discussions of rotary screen and ink jet printing systems are included. Radio frequency, vacuum, conveyor belt, and tenter dryers are described. 7 refs.
