Dyeing and finishing machinery manufacturers featured machines that reduce costs and process finer fabrics at the 1991 ITMA exhibition in Hannover, Germany. Manufacturers also placed emphasis on machines that reduce the number of processing steps required, save water and energy, and increase flexibility. Thies, NTM Obermaier, Sclavos, and Scholl exhibited machines for dyeing sensitive fabrics. Thies showed its Luft-roto system for transporting fabric via an air stream.
