Production line speed control systems developed by ADMES are discussed. AMDES uses asynchronous/synchronous motors with an integrated impulse coder in combination with vectorial frequency converters. This system features a minimal number of mechanical elements, precision at maximum r.p.m., governable progressivity during accelerations and decelerations of speed, and appropriate torque at low r.p.m. The use of this digital technology on a tenter is considered.
