Important quality control objectives in dyeing are satisfactory color, levelness, and fastness properties; enviornmental safety; satisfactory technological performance; and a high level of reproducibility. Then GmbH's Dynamic Quality Control (DQC) system automatically controls dyeing processes by optimally setting such machine parameters as fabric speed;, differential pressure; dosing of chemicals, salts, acids, and alkalies; and temperature during heating and cooling. The DQC system integrates with dyeing lines, such as the Ariflow or Comat models, and couples with the Then Dyehouse System (TDS) and the Color Kitchen Manager (CKM). The TDS system is a supervisory control system that automatically generates a dyeing program using data calcuated in the laboratory and data from a color matching system. 6 refs.
