The performance of the fabrics treated with several crosslinkers was highly dependent on the type of catalyst. The treatments were applied to all cotton print cloth via a pad-dry-cure process. Application levels were selected to effect approximately the same level of resilience with the different catalysts. The Wiley milled fabric via the gel permeation chromatographic technique was used to assess pore size distribution. The water soluble molecular probes employed were sugars, ethylene glycols, and glymes. The relationship between catalyst, pore structure, and textile performance is discussed. Abstract.
