A computer model simulates the performance of perforated drum dyers and can be used to give advice to customers and to investigate the effects of adjusting operating parameters. The model accepts machine specifications, performance parameters, and fabric-related information as input. Calculations are performed to determine fabric moisture and fabrics temperature profiles, air flows, pressure losses, air fan and drive motor performance, heating capacities, heat losses, heat flow rates, and energy consumption. 7 refs.
