A list of wet processing problems, the probable causes of such problems, and the remedial measures for such problems is presented. Pretreatment problems listed include uneven surface appearance, creases, uneven absorbency, uneven wetting during mercerization, and handling stains. Dyeing problems listed include shade matching, poor washfastness, bad selvages, tone changes, and uneven color. Printing problems listed include background tinting, condensation marks, and creases. Finishing problems listed include weft bowing, yellowing, rubber blanket marks, and uneven optical brightening or blueing.
