The introduction of new fibers and fabrics have had an important infullence on the development of both wich beck and jet dyeing machines. The jet dyeing machine, first introduced during the 1960s,has evolved from models that use the jet for fabric transport to those that use the overflow liquor for fabric transport. A recent machine, the Then-Airflow, transports fabrics by air currents. The advantages of this machine over earier air jet dyeing machine designs are outlined.
