Barco has developed the PC 7000 fully automatic production control for continuous wet processing. The central element in the PC 7000 is a programmable logic controller, which is integrated with both the master PC and external, independent controllers. The functions of the PC 7000 include monitoring and controlling chemical or dye formulas; data acquisition, analysis, and storage; graphic representation of current and historic production values; current and historic incident lists (operator and alarm recording); writing and storing formulas onto disks or through networks; and transfer of historic data and incident lists to a streamer or network carrier. The use of the PC 7000 on a open-width washer is described. 4 refs.
