The automation of product dispensing in the dye kitchen has increased operational reliability and economy. Significant improvements have been made in the software used to link the dye kitchen control system with printing screen production, color measurement, recipe formulation, and consumption analysis during the printing process. Advances have also been made in the dispensing of powdered dyes, such as Colorservice's system with a 90-liter hopper that can be loaded at 20-35 kilograms per minute. Its software monitors consumption, giving updates on stock levels. Orintex's powder dispensing system employs vibration to effect dispensing. Stork's IPS 2000 receives information on printing paste formulations from the Color-Physics-System. The IPS 20000 is fitted with a program that enables even small quantities of residual paste to be used. Advances in software and equipment from Vanwyk, Klieverik Dispensing Systems, and IAS are also discussed.
