Sclavo's AquaChron rinsing process, which consists of process controls for heating and cooling times and water and fabric management, uses the Twin Soft Flow, patented double nozzle for rinsing. This system processes fabrics without stopping the fabric or draining the bath between the bleaching, dyeing, and rinsing steps, reducing water consumption. When used with the Sclavos Venus dyeing machine, this system generates savings of up to 40 percent compared with conventional machines. To confirm the savings, a mill trial processed a 1,200 pound lot of fabric on Sclavos Venus dyeing machines. AATCC tests for colorfastness and spectroscopic methods determined fabric quality after dyeing. Results indicated that the AquaChron system dramatically reduced water and energy consumption, no apparent shade differences existed between fabric rolls, and all fabric samples had good fastness properties. 1 ref.
