The 1997-1996 WRONZ Report focuses on developments in scoured wool, carpet, apparel, single-stage processing, environmental, and wool production technologies. WRONZ also conducted basic scientific research funded by the government on wool fibers. This research included investigations of distortions in the internal fiber cellular structure, extraction and separation of keratin proteins from wool, and crimp formation. WRONZ Developments Limited supplies technologies and technical services to the New Zealand and international wool industry. Its major activities are wool testing, pilot plant processing, the manufacture of prototype equipment, instrument development and marketing, general and environmental consulting, and educational courses for the wool and textile industries. WRONZ Euralab Limited, located at the Wools of New Zealand Design Centre in likely, is its first offshore subsidiary.
