Dyeing processes for melange fabrics include doubled dyeing and a multicolor method that involves yarn based on two fibers with different dyeing properties. Kanebo Spinning Corporation's new top dyeing process determines percentage of individual colors that make up to specified color and dyes top in accordance with that percentage. The process shortens manufacturing times, reduces costs, and dyes small lots. Doubling cationic dyeable polyester filament yarn and conventional filament yarn results in a yarn suitable for melange fabrics. Teijin Limited's Shalltoray process yield a range of colors from dark to light in fine to coarse melanges through combining cationic dyeable monomer and conventional monomer.
