Aftertreatment for Improving Washing Fastness Quality of Some Azo Dyes on Textile Fibers.

Researchers synthesized five azo dyes by acetylating the amino group of H-acid and coupling the resultant products with different compounds, dyed wool and nylon 66 fabric samples, determined dye fixation and washfastness properties in the samples, teated the samples with dicyandiamide, and redetermined the dye fixation and washfastness properties. All of the dyes showed good exhaustion and leveling properties. The woolen fabric samples. The nylon samples showed better washfastness than did the woolen samples before treatment with the condensing agent. Treatment with dicyandiamide improved dye fixation and washfastness of all samples. 4 refs.
