Lyocell/Tencel treatment in modern piece-dyeing machines

Choice of piece dyeing machine for use with lyocell (or more specifically, Tencel) is considered. The particular design features necessary for processing such fibres are discussed and the example of the Krantz Aerodye machine given. Fibrillation is the most distinctive feature of lyocell fibres. The intensity of fibrillation is affected by temperature, treatment time, the mechanical intensity of the finishing process and the pH value.
