Coloration of polyamide textiles: Recent developments

The coloration of polyamide fibres is achieved by using various types of dyes; acid, premetallized, chrome and reactive. This article reviews developments in the application of these dye classes as well as their pretreatment and aftertreatment. Washfastness of wool is seen to improve when acid dyes are applied and better results for nylon are gained with metallized acid dyes.
