An overview of machinery for optimal dyeing shown at ITMA 1999 addresses computer aided processing, improved flexibility, fabric protection, piece dyeing, continuous dyeing, yarn dyeing, and new innovative processes. Key trends included increased collaboration between machinery manufacturers and dye and chemical suppliers and optimization of all aspects of the dyeing process. Exhibits included computer systems from Thies, DyStar, and MCS; Sclavos's Twin Soft Flow system; Fong's GNG-Suer-HT dyeing machine with the multisaving rinsing unit; Pozzi's SynchroWash yarn dyeing machine; Scholl's Rapidstar jet dyeing machine; Then's AFT Airflow system and Dyenet control unit; and Gaston County's Millennium dyeing machine. Of special interest were Krantz's Electric Dyeing concept and Babcock's Eco-Flash process.
