The Cottech '98 Conference, held in Basle, Switzerland, was an opportunity for dyers and finishers to promote high quality technical presentations. This article discusses some of the innovations on view from firms such as Ciba Speciality Chemicals Inc., Dystar, FMC Corporation and Nisshinbo Industries Inc. Also discussed are the market requirements for finishers and dyers which are seen to focus on cost, ecology and quality.
