Conventional pretreatment techniques use acid demineralization to remove heavy metals from cotton knit fabric, but not from woven fabrics. Beixon Acid is a patented auxiliary product suitable for the demineralization of cotton knit fabrics. Experiments showed that is removed greater levels of alkaline earth and iron than water only demineralization. Fabric whiteness increased with subsequent peroxide bleaching after pretreatment with Beixon Acid. The sizing in greige fabrics interferes with acid demineralization pretreatments. Beixon NE offers a single-stage desizing and demineralization process for such fabrics as woven cotton and linen. It increase fabrics whiteness and minimizes fiber damage. Beixon Acid and Beixon NE contain readily biodegradable, modified copolymers of sugar and polyacrylates. 2 refs.
