At the AATCC Dyeing Symposium this year four sessions were offered: dye/fiber interactions, trends in carpet coloration, trends in yarn dyeing, and trends in piece dyeing. Improving the dyeability of cellulose, dye penetration of nylon 6 fibers, the use of sulfonated aromatic aldehyde condensation products as stain resist agents, exhaust dyeing, automation in piece dyeing, and aero dynamics in piece dyeing technology were also topics. Problems with continuous dyeing using vat dyes are also discussed.
