Demand for the rapid production of apparel has popularized piece-dyeing. The following considerations in piece-dyeing are discussed: careful determination of dye and fabric weights and other measurements, preparation of fabric to accept dye, effects of pH, fabric composition, color effects, wash effects, and laundering performance of dyed fabric.
