An analysis of dyeing faults in 100 percent cotton fabrics revealed that a considerable number of the faults occur during pretreatment, especially in connection with high concentrations of unevenly distributed alkali and residual hydrogen peroxide from pre-bleach. The application of the chemical fuse Bayreduct after bleaching has proved effective in destroying hydrogen peroxide residues and preventing dyeing faults.
