Optimal process conditions during bleaching are critical to the reproducibility of reactive dyes on cotton. The effects of such factors as the use of stabilizers, the concentration and distribution of hydrogen peroxide, the presence of impurities, and pH are discussed. A new chemical aid, tradenamed Bayreduct PRN, has been developed to decrease the amount of residual hydrogen peroxide and to neutralize the pH. The continuous and discontinuous application of Bayreduct PRN is described.
