A Swiss engineer, Eckhardt Godeau, has developed a system for dyeing with indigo that generates zero effluent discharge. This system is currently installed in an Austrian facility that dyes warps. Godeau initially invented the Looptex process for short-ratio dyeing which decreased the amount of water consumed. Zero discharge is achieved when effluent is filtered and dyes are recycled. Unusable wastes are then incinerated.
