Aerodynamic systems for piece dyeing are considered superior to jet dyeing systems because no foam is used and the process is carried out in one stage. With the aerodynamic system, dyeing with a low liquor ratio in a rapid process is achieved. An aerodynamic system, Then-AirflowR, offers piece dyeing that is 100 percent more effective than the jet method. Processing kiers are linked to the gas and injection circuit so that activities can be controlled using the DCE30 controller. The Then-AirflowR system can be used on knitted and woven fabrics. Practical experience with the Then-AirflowR system suggests that applications are widening and that economic advantages are significant. 13refs.
