Two leading Italian hosiery manufacturers, Carsol and Malerba, have installed new pantyhose dyeing machines in entirely automated and robotized plants. The heart of both plants is Bellini's TCC hosiery dyeing machine, which is preset for robotics. A programmable logic computer(PLC) automates lid operation, safety systems, liquor levels, temperature, static pressure, and pump activity. The PLC is linked to a host computer, which is used to monitor the efficiency of all operations. Both plants have been transformed into completely computer-integrated manufacturing environments.
