Water is a critical component in every finishing and dyeing operation at the Azeta plant in Biella, Italy. The interaction of water, heat, and wool fiber is examined. For example, dimensional stability is achieved fabric fixation, steaming, and decating, thus producing optimal fabric handle and wearability. Control of humidity, temperature, and processing time is important. The function of water in scouring, milling, piece dyeing, and drying is also discussed.
