Adsorption is used to separate organic dyes in aqueous solutions, but the process has to be modified to increase the amount adsorbed at lower cost. The adsorption of both reactive dyes and deoxidants, both used in cotton mills, were studied from aqueous solutions onto activated carbon and alumina. Conductometry and spectrophotometry were used to measure the quantity of dye. 12 refs.
