The problem of waste resulting from reactive dyeing processes may be mitigated by in situ removal of hydrolysates formed from the dyes. The conventional afterclearing procedure must be improved to achieve this aim. For example, the temperature may be increased in the first bath in order to concentrate the hydrolysates. The pollution load may also be decreased by eliminating or at least reducing the addition of afterclearing auxiliaries. 2 refs.
