The Gaston County Futura 3000 carpet dyeing machine dyes in rope form to eliminate potential shading effects. Temperatures up to 115 degrees Centigrade are used to promote dye exhaustion and leveling. A horizontal storage area minimizes fabric compaction. This feature, together with high fabric turnover rates and a closed loop dye circulation system, enables jet dyeing machines to process much greater load sizes than an atmospheric beck. Jet dyers were initially used for polyester carpeting, but recently the machines have been used for nylon applications.
