Launderers are becoming interested in neon dyeing as a means to increase plant income, but they are concerned about the possibility of residual dye in the washers damaging equipment and inventory. That worry may be eliminated by using a cold pretreatment and by using separate machines for the pretreatment and the actual dyeing. With this procedure, machines remain clean because the fixative is applied in a different machine and the pigment has no binder on which to adhere.
