The dyehouse of the 1990's are generally very sophisticated, automated facilities that coordinate the most modern tools available to produce the best products at the lowest cost. This means optimum coordination of manpower, machines, utilities, dyes, and chemicals. Management must concentrate on factors that cause faults in dyehouse operation, thus raising costs and reducing quality of the finished product. The factors having the greatest effect on fault control are: water quality, dyestuff quality, chemical quality, operator expertise, lot sizes, cloth quality, blend level, cotton immaturity, and polyester sources.
