Monforts' denim finishing and shrinking machines include the conventional denim processing system, which uses a padding machine and cylinder dryer, and the VACU-FOAM denim processing system, which uses a foam application unit, stretching unit, rubber belt shrinking unit, and felt calender. Operating speeds range from 25-80 meters per minute. The VACU-FOAM system reduces water consumption by up to 80 percent and features environmentally safe shrinking on a single or tandem design rubber belt shrinking machine at speeds of up to 60 meters per minute. A mobile mixing module generates the foam and a traversing unit spreads it in front of the doctor blade. Auxiliary equipment includes process control systems, fabric moisture measuring units, automatic fault detection devices, colorimetric systems, and a water softening system.
