ITMA 99 was the 'coming of age' of ink-jet printing for the textile industry, with over 20 booths exhibiting digital printing systems based on all three of the major ink-jet technologies. Ink-jet printing requires a large number of relatively slow machines to produce volumes of fabric, and the technology still requires improvements in reliability, speed and operating costs.
