After discussing general principles of the fading process and the determinate of light fastness in dyes, the author reports on his own experiments with Rhubarb dye on wool and silk. The specific objective was to study the kinetics of fading of Himalayan Rhubarb and to determine the effect of substrate, mordanting and humidity.
