Controlling pH in polyamide dyeing

To increase bath exhaustion and thus improve the reproducibility and levelness of dyeings, some processes allow a reduction of pH, as well as a rise in temperature. This article describes the optimisation of this type of pH sliding process. A computer program has been developed to simplify application of the systematic process recommendations. This program calculates the optimum process conditions for dyeing polyamide with acid and metal-complex dyes on the basis of substrate, recipe and dyeing units.
