A study of the dye degradation of different catalytic systems compared the effects of peroxides, polyoxometallates, and laccases on the model dyes Indigo Carmine and Solophenil Blue GL. Decolorization totaled 15 percent for laccase or polyoxometallate. A mixed system produced decolorization of up to 65 percent. Data confirmed the essential nonspecific and chemical nature of the laccase activities. Polyoxometallates increased the dye degradation of laccases. Abstract.
