Accordis's C94 titanium dioxide catalyst provides environmentally safer manufacturing of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) because titanium dioxide presents no health risks and is not registered as a harmful chemical substance. PET manufactured with C94 has a good light stability and higher breaking extension than conventional PET. Its tensile strength is 10 percent less than that of conventional PET, but is adequate for fabric applications. PET fibers manufactured with C94 spin and weave as well as conventional PET and require less dye, lower dyeing temperatures, and shorter dyeing times.
