BTM Textilmaschinen GmbH's Power-Tex open width washing machine provides such pretreatment functions as desizing, enzyme treatment, demineralizing, and oxidative treatment. It desizes water soluble sizes and starches at speeds of up to 100 meters per minute with a reaction time of 20 seconds in continuous operation. During desizing, the Power-Tex acts as an impregnating compartment, dwelling chamber, and steamer and eliminates the need for roll steamers or roll beds. Cold pad batch desizing with the Power-Tex eliminates the need for processing in a Babco-tex rinsing machine. The machine reduces washing time by 60 percent and water consumption by 30 percent during washout after dyeing with Cibacron P dyes.
