Fiber irregularities occurring during the manufacture of continuous nylon filaments can produce barre effects. Thor Specialties' Kyolox TSP is a blend of alcohol ethoxylate surfactants and an antioxidant for heat setting nylon fabrics to minimize the yellowing resulting from oxidation of the processing oils and damage to the amine groups on the nylon. Padding Kyolox TSP onto nylon prior to heat setting reduces yellowing and subsequent barre effects when the fabric is dyed and finished. Dupranin LPA, a dye leveling system for pale to medium shades, is a single dose product that combines the function of anionic and cationic leveling agents. Dupranin LPA controls the dyeing rate throughout the dyeing process by reducing the initial fast rate of strike and providing satisfactory exhaustion.
