Cost Savings with Production Recipe Management and Third Party Integration.

It is difficult to quantify the effects of investments on the optimization of dyeing processes. A case study of Penn Elastic, however, showed how investments in integrating software for dye recipe and process optimization can be evaluated quantitatively. Penn Elastic's goal involved a progressive automation of the dyeing process via conversion to uniform and centralized machinery, establishment of an automated dyeing operation, and the integration of the entire operation using Datacolor's ITMProcess. The actual cost savings remain proprietary, but the study showed that software control can achieve larger production capacities with greater flexibility without additional capital investments in machinery and equipment.
